Sandy Liang is giving readers a look behind the curtain with Dressing Up: Sandy Liang, a new monograph arriving via Rizzoli New York. Marking more than a decade of her namesake label, the book compiles an intimate selection of ephemera from the designer's world and opens up the process behind the girlish, nostalgia-driven universe she has built.

As an object, the release is a substantial one. It runs 276 pages in hardcover, and the interior is anchored by previously unpublished material, including personal film and iPhone photographs that Liang has kept as her own running record. Rather than a straight lookbook, the pages are curated through a close, personal lens, surfacing the inspirations, runway moments and evolving ideas around uniform dressing that have defined her output.

"I've been documenting my life through photos since high school when I got my first iPhone. Holding memories through photos has always felt as precious as keeping a childhood memento," Liang said in the announcement. "Sharing my life through my work feels intuitive for me - one does not feel complete without the other. This scrapbook of memories captures a decade of the brand through that lens."

The visual language the book catalogs is instantly legible to anyone who has followed the label. Liang's collections have long trafficked in bows, Peter Pan collars, pleated skirts, ballet references, florals and kawaii touches, fusing a downtown New York attitude with cues pulled from memory, nostalgia and youth culture. A native New Yorker whose work draws heavily on growing up in Chinatown, she has turned that specific blend of femininity and intergenerational influence into a devoted global following, positioning the monograph as both a personal archive and a broader statement on her place in contemporary fashion.

The book features contributions from Ava Nirui, the New York creative director known for her work on Heaven by Marc Jacobs, and Dean DiCriscio, a stylist who splits his time between New York and Los Angeles.
