LEGO's Star Wars Executor Super Star Destroyer is a new 6,130-piece Ultimate Collector Series set that recreates Darth Vader's flagship from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Aimed at adult builders, the display model captures the vessel's enormous scale and knife-edge profile, and at more than 53.5 inches (136 cm) long it lands as the longest brick-built LEGO Star Wars model the company has produced.
Reaching that length meant solving a structural problem, and the answer sits under the panels. The design team built the model around a LEGO System core reinforced with slim LEGO Technic outriggers, which anchor the exterior panels and carry the load so the ship can stretch to its full span without turning bulky. It is a skeleton-and-skin approach that trades visible mass for hidden rigidity, letting the finished piece hold the Executor's famously sharp silhouette.
The surface detailing is where the set does its most inventive work. Dense greebling runs down the central spine and plays against the smoother side panels, and much of the texture comes from a single newly designed decorated tile used 60 times across the build. That one graphic recreates the ship's tiny hull lights and central detailing, and because it reads correctly across multiple orientations and overlaps, the repeated tiles scatter into what looks like organic, random lighting rather than a rigid grid. To push the detail further, the build uses controlled inversions that flip orientation partway through, exposing both the stud and tube sides of elements to enrich the center spine and underside.
The roster is the set's other headline. It carries seven Minifigures, led by Darth Vader, and for the first time brings all six Empire Strikes Back bounty hunters together in a single box: Boba Fett, Dengar with a refreshed backpack build, Bossk, IG-88 with a brand-new moulded head, 4-LOM, and Zuckuss. To give them a stage, the set includes a Minifigure-scale build of the Executor's bridge, recreating the scene where the characters are famously assembled.
Display is baked into the design as well. The finished ship sits on a built-in minimal stand and is joined by a companion Star Destroyer built to scale, itself carrying a tiny Millennium Falcon on a single round tile as a wink at just how oversized the Executor really is. Builders working through the model can also lean on the LEGO Builder app, which allows them to save the set, track progress, and zoom into or rotate a 3D view during construction.
The LEGO Star Wars Executor Super Star Destroyer is available starting October 1 via LEGO Stores and online.
