URWERK has unveiled the UR‑1001 Amadeus, a one‑of‑a‑kind pocket watch that pushes the boundaries of horology both mechanically and artistically. Conceived as a “Zeit Device,” it spans every imaginable scale of time, from fleeting seconds to millennia, mapping temporal flow rather than simply measuring it. Its nickname, "Amadeus," pays tribute to the extravagant, avant-garde spirit of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, housing its ultra-complex mechanism inside a heavily decorated, baroque-style case.

On the dial side, the watch features URWERK’s signature satellite hours with retrograde minutes, an orbital annual calendar, and a hand‑painted day/night disc. A power reserve indicator completes the front display. The reverse side extends the concept of time further, with an “Oil Change” service counter, a 100‑year odometer, and a millennium indicator that advances so slowly it challenges perception itself. Beneath this architecture lies the Calibre UR‑10.01, a 51‑jewel movement beating at 28,800 vph, equipped with a retrograde mechanism and shock‑absorbing safety system.

The defining highlight of the UR-1001 Amadeus is its raw titanium case, measuring 106mm by 62mm and 23mm thick, which was transformed into a hand-engraved sculpture by Bavarian master engraver Florian Güllert. Every surface of the titanium case has been hand‑engraved over 500 hours, with arabesques and reliefs that blur the line between decoration and structure.
