This Week in Running Justin Mock TWIRIt was a little quiet this weekend, but big things are coming up!

As we all pause before the massive weeks ahead, we check in on events in California, Colorado, Canada, and beyond.

It was the race’s 27th year, and the prize purse was $10,000. Race winners each earned $2,500, with $1,500 and $1,000 going to the second- and third-place finishers, too.

Spencer Ferguson-Dryden rolled the men’s race and won in 3:50. He was over 10 minutes ahead of second place while improving on last year’s third-place finish. Kevin Stewart and Nick Cioci got on the podium in 4:01 and 4:09.

The women’s race had a dominant winner, too. Sylvie Abel was out front in 4:30, and Leandra Zimmerman and Zuzana Trnovcova were second and third in 4:45 and 4:50. It was Abel’s third win in a row at San Francisco Bay Area races. She has the Mammoth Trailfest 50k up next month.
