The Dyson CameraJet electric toothbrush is the brand's most sensor-heavy oral-care play yet, built around a technology Dyson calls Gap Optical Targeting. Rather than leaving the gaps between teeth to a separate flossing step, the device sees them, targets them and cleans them while the brush is still in motion.

The centerpiece is a 100k-pixel macro-lens camera housed in the head. It captures 28 images every second, feeding them to an onboard AI machine-learning algorithm that pinpoints interdental gaps. A dome-shaped target lens widens the camera's field of view to sharpen detection, while a stroboscopic light supplies the illumination the lens needs to read the mouth accurately.

Once a gap is identified, the cleaning happens through a conical jet that releases up to 0.15ml of liquid between the teeth. A diaphragm pump delivers that pressurized burst in as little as a tenth of a second, and an anti-gravity tank is engineered so the diaphragm expands to cut out air pockets, keeping the jet effective no matter the angle the brush is held at. Dyson developed the conical shape against a lab-based proxy plaque, positioning the sweep of the jet as more thorough than a needle-style stream.

A powerful sonic motor drives variable oscillation at 245 movements per second, with an anti-stall action that keeps the bristles moving to lift more plaque. The precisely contoured dual-bristle head cleans along the gumline and is RFID-enabled, so it flags its own wear and signals when a replacement is due, while a silicone-backed sonic dampener softens the feel in hand. Users can run three cleaning modes, brushing and flossing together, floss-only or brush-only, layered over three intensity settings from Gentle to Deep clean, with onboard sensors calling out excess pressure or poor technique.

Connectivity rounds out the package through the MyDyson app over Wi-Fi. Beyond guided cleaning, coverage mapping and trend data, the standout is live viewing: the intraoral camera streams cleaning footage in real time so the user can watch what a dentist would normally see. Dyson notes those images are processed on the device or in the app and are never stored or shared. On the durability side, the CameraJet carries an IPX7 waterproof rating, a battery rated for roughly 10 days of use, USB-C to pogo-pin charging and a swappable battery meant to extend the device's lifespan.
