Nike, Fat Joe, and Terror Squad are officially releasing the Air Force 1 Low "University Red and White," a pair that first surfaced in 2023 without a confirmed drop. After that year in limbo, the shoe now has a firm launch date, closing the gap between its first appearance and a proper retail release.

The colorway sticks to the template Terror Squad AF1s are known for: simple blocking, familiar branding and little in the way of extra flourish. Red leather runs across the mudguard, eyestays and heel panels, while white leather takes the toe box and side panels. The Swoosh is finished in white as well, keeping the upper to a clean two-tone read.

The sole carries the same logic. A white midsole is paired with red "AIR" branding near the heel and a solid red outsole underneath. The signature detail sits on the lateral heel, where Terror Squad's "TS" logo is embroidered, the element that most directly links this pair to the older, hard-to-find Terror Squad Air Force 1s tied to Fat Joe and the crew.

That scarcity is a big part of why these matter. The early Terror Squad AF1s were notoriously difficult to come by, and that exclusivity has always been baked into their reputation. Fat Joe has kept a foot in sneaker culture in the years since, both through his Nike work and his involvement with UP NYC, which gives this release the feel of a long-running relationship rather than a one-off.

Nike's campaign imagery pairs Fat Joe with his daughter around the Bronx, grounding the shoe in the New York backdrop that the Terror Squad name carries.
