Early adopters of nCino’s agentic solutions and other artificial intelligence initiatives for financial institutions have used up their first bundles of credits and have come back for more, nCino CEO Sean Desmond said Tuesday (Aug. 25) during an earnings call.

“I mentioned during our first quarter earnings call that some customers were beginning to reach the limits of their initial Intelligence Unit bundles,” Desmond said. “We have recently begun monetizing the sale of additional Intelligence Units as clients come back for more, which is really exciting to see and a strong signal of engagement with our Banking Advisor capabilities.”

Intelligence Units are part of the pricing model nCino uses to align the cost of its AI products with the customer’s usage and value obtained, according to an FAQ on the company’s website.

nCino announced in November that it added AI agents called Digital Partners to its platform, including Executive, Analyst, Service and Processing Digital Partners.

Desmond had said during an August 2025 earnings call that nCino was preparing to add AI capabilities and fully agentic workflows to its Banking Advisor product.

During Tuesday’s call, Desmond said nCino is seeing continuing adoption of its agentic solutions and other AI initiatives by new users. As of the end of the most recent quarter, more than 230 customers have purchased Intelligence Units, he said.

That figure was up from the 110 customers that had purchased Intelligence Units by late 2025, as reported during a December earnings call.

“We are no longer trying to convince prospective customers that we can lead the transition to agentic AI-powered banking. We are doing it,” Desmond said. “The energy and momentum we are seeing in customer and prospect conversations around the globe reflects that conviction.”

Providing an example of measurable results delivered by nCino’s AI solutions, Desmond said one U.S. enterprise customer reported that it can save 160,000 hours per year by using the “locate and file” functionality of nCino’s Banking Advisor. Based on median loan officer compensation, that yields an annual savings of over $5.5 million, he said.

“Proof points like this are motivating customers to transition to our platform pricing model to gain access to nCino’s agentic solutions and other AI initiatives,” Desmond said.

Desmond also credited these AI initiatives with the multiyear renewals nCino signed with 20 of its largest U.S. enterprise customers by annual contract value (ACV). Those banks represent over $900 billion in assets, according to a Tuesday press release.

“All four renewed ahead of schedule with an average ACV increase of more than 10% because they wanted access to nCino’s rapidly expanding suite of AI tools and functionality,” Desmond said. “These customers are some of the largest financial institutions in the country and have the financial and technical resources to build internally if they choose to. They’re proactively doubling down on nCino because we’ve spent nearly 15 years building the trusted global system of record for critical banking processes.”
