Louis Vuitton frames its new High Trunks as an oceanic evolution of the Courrier Lozine 110Pharrell Williams anchors the project in the House's trunk-making history and the flexibility written into the 1905 Monogram patentTechniques ranging from hand-cut leather to inlaid mother of pearl and mirrored chrome push the Monogram into new material territory

Louis Vuitton has unveiled the High Trunks, a set of oceanic reinterpretations of the Courrier Lozine 110 introduced by Men's Creative Director Pharrell Williams for the House's Men's Spring-Summer 2027 collection. Rather than treat the trunk as a fixed object, the project uses it as a testing ground for craft, translating the marine theme at the center of the season into surfaces built from leather, shell, and chrome.

The heritage argument sits right in the release. Louis Vuitton points to its 1905 Monogram patent, which explicitly allowed for variations in color, size, and material, and positions that document as the license for everything the High Trunks attempt. It is a neat way of framing radical material experiments as an extension of the House's own rulebook rather than a break from it, tying Pharrell's oceanic vision back to a founding principle instead of layering it on top. Louis Vuitton has long invited outside artists and designers into its world, and Pharrell's tenure as Men's Creative Director continues that pattern of handing the Monogram to a new author.

Each trunk carries the theme through a different discipline. The unique Leather Marquetry "Under the Sea" Courrier Lozine 110 renders coral reefs, tropical fish, and aquatic flora from more than 1,500 individually cut leather elements, drawing on over 35 leathers chosen for grain, color, and texture, with shell-shaped metallic corners carrying the marine motif past the marquetry itself. The Mother of Pearl Marquetry version, made alongside a French marquetry artisan, inlays more than 2,000 hand-cut pieces of sustainably sourced mother of pearl into smoked larch wood, letting the Monogram catch and shift the light. The Chrome Wave takes the opposite route, sculpting transparent acrylic into wave forms, laser-engraving the Monogram, then finishing the panels in motion with two silver chrome coatings for a mirrored surface hiding neon Monogram flowers, its contemporary shell opening onto a traditional cream VVN leather interior.

The collection stretches well beyond those three. Liquid Python wraps both the Courrier Lozine 110 and the Coffret 8 Montres in hand-finished python leather with a water-like effect, while the Summer Captions Courrier Lozine 110 catches a seaside-sunset glow through translucent acrylic. New silhouettes such as the LV Turtle Trunk and Neo Briefcase Trunk revisit the House's travel vocabulary in contemporary proportions, and the Mini Malle Bijoux arrives as an object built for the rituals of modern travel and collecting. Read as a group, the High Trunks make the case that the Monogram is less a print than a platform, one durable enough to survive being cut into leather, embedded in shell, and poured into chrome without losing its identity.

First revealed at the Men's Spring-Summer 2027 show, the High Trunks are available in select Louis Vuitton stores worldwide and through the House's Savoir Rêver events. The Mother of Pearl Marquetry, Chrome Wave, Summer Captions, and Liquid Python Courrier Lozine 110 can be ordered with a ten-month lead time, with further pieces from the collection arriving from January 2027.
